October is designated as Texas Archeology Month. Jeff Girard, retired professor at Northwestern State University and regional archeologist for the Louisiana Archeological Society, will speak on the origin of the Caddoan Culture and a 14th century Caddo dugout canoe found in the Red River. The presentation is free to the public at the Katy & E. Don Walker Education Center, 1402 19th St. Exhibits and refreshments 6:30 p.m. Presentation and questions from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
